Google hat bekannt gegeben, dass man dieses Jahr die Entwickler-Konferenz Google I/O in Gänze streichen wird.
Aufgrund der aktuellen weltweiten Entwicklungen durch das Corona-Virus hatte Google schon angekündigt, dass die Google I/O in diesem Jahr nicht als Veranstaltung für alle geladenen Medien und Entwickler in Kalifornien stattfinden würde. Man hatte angekündigt, dass alle Inhalte und (für die meisten wohl das Interessanteste) die Keynote mit den diversen Vorstellugen, wie neue Dienste und Entwicklungen nur per Stream angesehen werden würde.
Jetzt man allerdings bekanntgegeben, dass man die komplette I/O für das Jahr absagt:
A #GoogleIO update: Out of concern for the health and safety of our developers, employees, and local communities — and in line with “shelter in place” requirements by the local Bay Area government — we sadly will not be holding an I/O event in any capacity this year.
Right now, the most important thing all of us can do is focus our attention on helping people with the new challenges we all face. We’ll continue to do everything we can to help our communities stay safe, informed, and connected.

Was man im Angesicht der aktuellen Situation an Informationen zu neuen Produkten, Diensten und Zahlen zu Android, Chrome OS und Googles Geräten und Services eventuell auf anderen Wegen teilen wird, werden wir wohl abwarten müssen.
